Each 26-in by 14-in board is a full 0.7 in thick, and 13 in of clearance between levels leaves room for standing hardcovers or a mid-size planter. An X-shaped rear brace pulls the frame square so the unit does not sway when a shelf is loaded from one side, and an anti-toppling device anchors it to the wall. The legs lift the base 4 in off the ground, high enough for a robot vacuum to pass under.
