This chair changes length rather than just angle. Pushed in it is a compact 26-in by 32.5-in seat standing 36.5 in tall; pull the retractable footrest out and the same frame stretches to 63.5 in by 32.5 in as a lounger at 30 in high, and the footrest detaches completely when it is not wanted. The backrest locks in two positions, upright at 90 degrees for eating or talking and back at 135 degrees for lying out, so there is no fiddling with a strap to find an angle in between. A heavy-duty metal base carries the whole thing and is rated for 330 lbs in the seat, with the footrest section rated separately for 44 lbs, and exquisite stitching over a stable construction is what keeps the panels from pulling at the corners. Both the backrest and the 21-in by 18-in seat are padded, and the armrests are shaped for a forearm to actually rest on rather than balance. Storage hangs off the frame: a large cooler bag attaches with hook and loop fasteners so it can be moved or removed, and a practical cup holder takes a drink alongside it. Packing down is quick, with a fixing tie holding the folded chair closed and a carrying bag measuring 38 in by 6.5 in by 5.5 in taking all 9 lbs of it, a weight low enough that it is genuinely great for camping, fishing, backpacking, and other outdoor activities.
