Compact at 36 inches wide, this three-sided insert measures 36 by 7.8 by 17.3 inches and weighs 41 pounds, which keeps it within a one-person lift for a low opening. Tempered glass wraps the front and both ends, so 12 flame colors stay visible at an angle rather than only head-on. The recommended opening is 36.2 inches wide by 8.7 deep by 17.5 high. Heat runs 5000 BTU on 750 or 1500 watts for about 400 square feet, with a 62 to 82 degree Fahrenheit thermostat and a 6-foot cord. Five brightness levels adjust the flame, which operates independently of the heater. Recessed, wall-mounted or freestanding placement is left to the installer.
