Floor space is what a family tent is judged on, and this one covers 10 ft by 9 ft with 7 ft of standing headroom, enough to take two queen air mattresses plus gear, or six sleeping bags laid out, or five to seven people sharing the floor. Standing height across that area is the difference between changing clothes upright and doing it on your knees. Setup runs about five minutes in four steps: unfold the tent flat, run the roof poles through their sleeves, connect the metal support poles to raise the frame, then attach the rainfly and stake it out with the wind ropes. Sturdy fiberglass poles carry the shell, with metal supports holding the cabin walls upright rather than sloping them inward the way a dome does, which is where the usable floor area comes from. Ventilation is built into three places at once. Large mesh windows move air through the tent and keep the view open, the door panel is mesh as well so it can be left closed against insects while still breathing, and a zippered outer door closes over it when privacy or weather calls for it. Two-way zippers and fixing buckles make getting in and out quick from either side. Above it all sits a top rainfly for weather protection over the roof panel. The fabric is selected polyester, and ground stakes and wind ropes anchor the tent. An interior storage pocket keeps small items off the floor. Packed weight is 19 lb into a 21-in carrying bag, and the whole tent folds flat for the trip home. In severe weather, pack the tent away promptly to extend its life.
