Three layers make up the seating surface: wear-resistant linen, resilient sponge and sturdy plywood beneath, a layered build beneath the upholstery. The backrest reclines through 90 to 135 degrees and stands 27" tall, and linkage armrests move with it, keeping the elbows supported at 31". A 20" x 18" seat adjusts from 20" to 23.5" and the armrest spread widens from 23" to 38.5". Rated to 330 lbs. Assembly required; net weight 28.5 lbs. The two controls serve different purposes: one sets the sitting height at the desk, and the other releases the back for a break. Because the linkage arms travel with the backrest, the elbows need not be lifted away from their supports to lean back. Gray linen gives this executive office chair a softer surface than a wipe-clean leather model. The wide armrest spacing leaves room to change position at a computer workstation. Seat height: 20"-23.5"
