Twenty-four inches from floor to desktop is the height that fits a child rather than an adult, and it is the reason this desk works from about age three without a booster. Above it a hutch adds five open compartments at eye level, so books and supplies stay in view instead of disappearing into a drawer. The drawer itself measures 28 x 14 x 2 in - wide and shallow, sized for paper and art materials rather than boxes. The frame stands 31.5 x 19 x 40 in in MDF and engineered wood, holds 200 lbs on the top and weighs 53 lbs.
