Each box measures 12.5 by 12 inches and stands 10 inches tall, with an interior of 12 by 11 by 8.5 inches: deep enough for lettuce, strawberries or a clutch of succulents. A crossbar under the base reinforces the floor so each box carries up to 66 lbs of wet soil without bowing. Instead of a single center hole, the base plate is cut with drainage gaps that spread water release across the whole footprint, which keeps roots from sitting in a puddle.
