These four weight plates add ballast to an offset umbrella that already has a cross base, and they are not a standalone stand. Filled, they carry 180 lb of sand or 130 lb of water, enough to hold a cantilever canopy upright when the wind picks up. Each plate has its own spout and twist cap, so filling takes no funnel, and each measures 20 in square by 3 in thick. Set in place they spread to 41 in square, and at 18 lb empty the set carries out easily. Molded HDPE resists sun, rain, and cracking, and the plates stack into one pile for storage over winter.
