Entryways are where storage and getting ready collide. This solid wood mirror handles both at once: a 16 in by 48 in glass panel for the outfit check, and a pegboard that slides across it carrying three shelves and three removable hooks for the bags, hats and keys that otherwise end up on the floor. The sliding action is the clever part. The pegboard travels left or right, so you can set the storage on whichever side suits your doorway, your furniture or the hand you reach with. Slide it across the glass and the mirror disappears behind a tidy wood panel, which is useful in a bedroom where you would rather not catch your reflection at midnight. Slide it back and the full-length view returns. The shelves come in three widths, 16 in, 12 in and 8 in, each 4 in deep, so a trailing plant, a stack of folded scarves and a set of keys all have somewhere sensible to sit. The frame measures 16 in wide by 5.5 in deep by 55 in tall when closed and opens to 31.5 in wide, and the whole 29.5 lb unit mounts to the wall so no floor space is lost. Assembly is required and the guide ships in the box.
